Master Vibrator Company heater
« on: June 26, 2010, 04:53:28 PM »
Sean and all the contractors: Have you ever heard of Master Vibrator Company and their torpedo heaters? I got no good leads on google.

Today, I pulled a commercial grade 125,000 btu torpedo heater made by Master Vibrator Company from the local town dump. The model is  B-125. It appears in good condition and need a little maintence. The guts of this heater is SERIOUS commercial grade, not anything like the torpedo heaters bought at HD or Lowes. It amkes the heaters at HD and Lowes look like cheap toys made in China.  I'm itching to fire this thing up and burn down my garage.

Only in New Jerzi. Our local dump/landfill is quite different. I dump my trailer in the middle of a large warehouse with a cement floor. Big back hoes come in and pick the stuff apart. They make piles for recycling around the sides and a big chipper takes the rest. Then they put the chipped up stuff in the landfill.
Hard to pick stuff out when the backhoes are moving in.

The town dump here is just a drop off. Piles of metal are trucked out to somewhere's once every two weeks. The piles of treasures are npt sorted out or touched ohter than by pickers such as myself.

Anyway, I fired up the heater and it works 100%. I thought tthe fan needed rebuilding. The PROBLEM was a sheet metal screw stuck between the fan blade and the metal tube that the fan is mounted in. 2 minute fix!!

The heater is MUCH quieter than my Home Depot 35,000 btu non-commercial torpedo heater.

Yo fatjohnny.......

On this LL website you can go back into your post by hitting the "modify" icon button to fix, your incorrectly spelled words. No reason for that lame excuse of "fat fingers" caused it. Or whatever you deem, justifiable for that day.

I'm not the spelling police but...I wanted you to know we have that feature here. Maybe you overlooked it?

ATL.com is NOT like that Mo-Mo's website, out of Virginia.

Just a FYI.

I was wondering myself what other products the Master Vibrator company produced.   :o

Probably cement vibrators, but who knows?

I must admit I skipped over this particular post for reasons I'll not go into.  :)

Only you Johnny could find such a nifty item.  My best dive was to find a brand NIB Braun drink mixer.  :)

I do.  When I worked for them in 1963-1964, it was mostly cement vibrators, as best as I can recall.
If you're not into construction, that's a device you insert into poured concrete to eliminate air bubbles.
They became Master Consolidated in 1964, and moved their manufacturing plant to Kentucky, where they mostly built construction heaters.
